CERNLIB 98 Release

  Ian Mclaren IT/ASD

Release 98 of the CERN Program Library is scheduled for early March 1998. As the basic libraries in Cernlib are frozen, most of the changes are bug fixes or ports to new operating systems. A considerable effort has successfully been made to incorporate all the modifications for the Microsoft Windows port, using Digital Visual Fortran, into the Cernlib sources.

The Release Schedule ( http://wwwinfo.cern.ch/asd/cernlib/schedule98.html) contains details of the planned supported platforms and compiler levels as well as details of the changes made since the 97a release. Some changes may be made to the compiler levels in the light of feedback and late developments.
