Since the last CNL we have received the following new editions of books: Second Editions of Java Tutorial, and Java Class Libraries from the Addison Wesley "Java Source Series", as well as a Third Edition of the C++ Primer from Lippman.
For PC users I include below a list of new titles:
Linux software is now available on the CERN CD-ROM. A preliminary version
with a combination of 4.1/4.2 Red Hat Linux is available and coming soon will be
version 5.1. We are able to print these CD's locally on request so we should
never run short of them; please read the
for more information and
future offerings. There are also new books on Linux: one by O'Reilly,
Linux device drivers, and one from Addison Wesley,
Linux Kernel Internals.

Coming in the next weeks is an alternative to the
C++ Primer in the way of an
interactive CD-ROM training guide for C++. There is a
"Java with Corba" course at CERN planned in the coming weeks,
and the recommended book Teach yourself Corba in 14
Days will soon be available. There are also a few copies of the
Wiley book on Corba, Java Programming with Corba, available.
