Policy on Registration for the CERNVM Service

In line with the policy described above, we will henceforth restrict the creation on new accounts on CERNVM. We intend to apply the following policy concerning new requests:

• disable the authorization of all group administrators to create new CERNVM accounts;
• centralize such registrations through our User Registration Service, to be fulfilled only when sound reasons are given for such action;
• withdraw all VM-related documentation distributed by CN Division from the documentation shelves of our User Consultancy Office and WWW (to be available only on request).

These guidelines will enter into force with the publication of this Computer Newsletter.
