On Tuesday, May 16th, DECnet/OSI (Phase V) version 6.1 was installed on all nodes of VXCERN except the VAX node VSCRNA. This upgrade was performed to enable users to take advantage of the new DECnet-over-TCP/IP functionality and as an encouragement to the experiments to upgrade. VSCRNA was not upgraded so that Phase IV nodes can still use it to obtain the master NCP copy of DECnet node names. The upgrade for VSCRNA is planned for sometime in the autumn, after a new solution is found for the ``master copy'' of the NCP node names.
